Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz)

Mixed Breed · Male

vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, against parasites treated Living arrangement: foster home 16348 Wandlitz Dik is an incredibly loving, gentle, and friendly dog. He is outgoing, loyal, and cuddly. Despite his age, he feels great, is active, and really enjoys walks. Dik misses attention and human closeness very much. He is very sensitive and can sense every mood. He is simply the ideal companion. For Dik, humans are the whole world. If you want to watch TV in peace or read a book, Dik will lie quietly beside you. But as soon as the leash is in your hand, he sets off with great anticipation. Outdoors, he is obedient and curious, does not pull on the leash, and is happy to go anywhere. Dik is used to car rides, gets in the car on his own, and likes to doze on the back seat. He also feels calm and secure in public transportation. Currently, Dik lives in a foster home with other dogs, where he is highly regarded: "Dik is a very well-mannered and clever boy. Incredibly sensitive, loving, and understanding, with him it is quiet and good. He is a uncomplicated, friendly dog. He is very people-oriented, but can also be left alone at home. At home, he behaves impeccably, does not break anything, gets along well with other dogs, and barks rarely. He has quickly adapted to the rules in the house. Like a good boy, he sits there patiently and waits while his food is prepared, and as soon as I sit on the sofa, he is immediately beside me. During walks, he is active and cheerful, and he likes to play with a dog he likes. He also likes to go to the café or to the pet store with his human." Dik loves physical contact and is very clingy. From the first moment, he approaches strangers openly and holds his head or back for a pat. Dik was once a family dog. After his owner's death, he came to the animal shelter, lost his zest for life, and suffered greatly. In the foster family near people, Dik blossoms again and can be happy. Dik is calm and friendly with cats. He is also friendly with children. We wish this wonderful dog a loving family that will shower him with love for the rest of his life. In return, Dik will bring many happy moments, positivity, and his love. Please refer to the club's attachment for legal details.

About Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz)

What life with Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz) looks like

Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz) is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. in Gladbeck.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Russische Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dik (Pflegestelle 16348 Wandlitz) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
