Dina

Collie · Female · Adult · 4 years

Dina, Collie dog, 4 years old, neutered! May I introduce myself, I am Dina and I am searching for a new home. It has been brought to my attention that I might have a chance at finding a new home here. My master is seriously ill and my mistress is fully occupied with work. Therefore, the time is not right to take proper care of me, as a young Collie dog really needs. In essence, I am a soulful dog. I love my people, I am friendly with dogs and cats if they are used to having dogs around. I also know children! I also enjoy being brushed and going for a ride in the car with you. We can still work on my training, I still pull on the leash. As I have a prey drive, I must be on a leash. With a confident second Collie, recall training also works! I live in Bremen, you will have to visit me there! For Dina, we are looking for a family with the time to work with her. A family with Collie experience without very young children, as Dina can be very stormy. Dina would be suitable for head work like tracking and mantrailing. A house with a dog-safe garden should be available. And a compatible, confident second Collie should be present. Please have understanding that only serious inquiries with full names, phone numbers, and addresses can be answered. The more information you provide upfront, the better we can determine if Dina is suitable for you. On short emails...where is the Collie, had our own Collies before, the last one died...no response. Your email with a detailed description to Heidi Jostschulte hjostschulte(at). Gets along with other dogs. Best placed with a resident dog (second-dog home).

About Dina

What life with Dina looks like

Dina is a adult collie dog waiting at Collies suchen ein Zuhause in Oldenburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Collies suchen ein Zuhause handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Collies suchen ein Zuhause will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Collies suchen ein Zuhause early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
