Dinar

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Dinar, a dog born in 2020. Dinar is a calm and gentle kawaler. He arrived with us a bit lost, but is slowly getting used to our animal shelter. At first, he had no idea what to expect here, but with time, he will surely gain more confidence, as he is completely safe with us. We quickly noticed that Dinar doesn't like the leash at all, and when it is put on, he stands motionless. It seems he had no one to teach him this before. We will therefore gradually take him out on the leash and teach him from the basics. He doesn't react very enthusiastically to other dogs at the moment, but this may be due to a slight fear that still remains in him, so we will continue to monitor this. Dinar currently weighs around 10 kilograms and looks pretty good, but he might even gain a little weight over time, especially after neutering. The dog is completely submissive towards the animal shelter staff; he has no problem being picked up, and petting and all sorts of caresses really calm him down. He should have the most frequent contact with people, quietness, and peace. In such conditions, he would quickly come to himself and learn everything faster. We are looking for a responsible, patient, and caring owner who would give our Dinar a chance to flourish. It would be best if such a person found him as soon as possible so that the dog wouldn't have to spend the rest of the winter in the animal shelter. We believe that Dinar should find his place as a couch potato; he doesn't destroy anything in his crate, nor does he make a noise, and since he is smart, he should learn the rules of the house quite quickly. We invite you to meet Dinar in person and consider his adoption. Dinar is microchipped, declawed, vaccinated, and neutered.

Dinar, pies urodzony w 2020r. Dinar to spokojny i łagodny kawaler. On powinien mieć jak najczęstszy kontakt z człowiekiem, ciszę i spokój. W takich warunkach błyskawicznie doszedłby całkowicie do siebie i szybciej wszystkiego by się nauczył. Szukamy mu więc odpowiedzialnego, cierpliwego i troskliwego właściciela dzięki któremu nasz Dinar będzie miał szansę rozkwitnąć.

About Dinar

What life with Dinar looks like

Dinar is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dinar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dinar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dinar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dinar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dinar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dinar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dinar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
