Dingle

Mixed Breed · Male

Age?19 weeksModel?Short haired, boy.Personality?Well socialised, uber frendly.Suitability? Most homes where he won’t be left alone for long periods.Other cats?Possibly if introduced properly.Indoor cat?No busy roads or other hazards within 100m, please. Children?Fives and older should be fine. How about dogs?Depends very much on the breed and previous exposureIn care11 days Dingle is a bit of a mystery – a lovely, friendly bundle of joy he arrived with us, part of a feral trap-neuter-release project. His siblings were typical ferals, scared, hissing and avoiding human contact. Dingle was the complete opposite, coming to greet us, purring and loving attention. Go figure?A confident little chap, he’s going to be a lovely addition to any family and, we think, very mischievous.Dingle has used his tray reliably, is not fussy about food and has been healthy throughout our stay with us. He’s ready, right now, for his new home and loads of adventures. As with all our cats, the Dingle has been vaccinated, wormed, flead, microchipped, and neutered before homing. To help offset these costs we respectfully ask for a minimum donation of £125 per head towards the cost of veterinary treatment although, obviously, we’d be delighted with more. All Silk Cats come with four weeks of complimentary PetPlan insurance – we recommend you consider arranging your own insurance at the end of the four weeks – there is a guide here: About Insurance READY for homing – if you’d like to adopt, please read the information here: ‘Our Homing Process’ and then complete a matchmaker/registration form email: : silkcatrescue.org.uk/adopttelephone:

About Dingle

What life with Dingle looks like

Dingle is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Silk Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dingle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dingle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Silk Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dingle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dingle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Silk Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dingle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dingle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Silk Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dingle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
