Adopt Dolly

Female

DOB: 02/02/24 Size: Small. Sex: Neutered Female. Good with other dogs: Solo dog home. Good with children: Adult home. Good with cats: Unknown. Dolly is a funny little scruff ball who has come to us from the stray kennels. Dolly is full of love, fun and cuddles, she is a funny cheeky girl who likes to dance (especially for a treat!) Dolly does need an experienced terrier home that is confident with rescue dogs – she can be very fearful of new men (although can bond over time) and sometimes with new women – she needs a patient and knowledgeable home that will give her the time and space she needs initially to bond with her and gain her trust. Dolly will need several meets with a potential family to establish that bond – she does live with children now, although because she can take time to warm up, we are looking for an adult only home with not a huge amount of comings and going in the home. Dolly loves a walk, loves being outside, and would enjoy a semi active home – she loves to play, and makes her Foster’s laugh everyday with her big personality- she has so much love to give and loves to snuggle up. Dolly does live with another dog and has had dog friends,

About Dolly

What life with Dolly looks like

Dolly is a small adult dog waiting at Auras Dogs UK in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dolly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dolly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Auras Dogs UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dolly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dolly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Auras Dogs UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dolly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dolly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Auras Dogs UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dolly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
