Adopt Donald B

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Born in 2020, Gender: male, neutered: yes, Character: very friendly, Size: approx. 43 cm, In shelter since: May 2023, Specials: In some German states, he is a listed dog, therefore entry is not allowed there! Hello, nice to see you. No, wait, don't move on so quickly. I want to take you into my world. So, my name is Donald. I am a young male dog who has passed his wild years. In the past, I had a task that I was not suited for. I had to live on a chain, what one can imagine, I cannot. I am a friendly, rather small contemporary who is friendly to all people. So, how should I repel uninvited guests. After it was recognized that I was not suited for this task, I was given to the shelter. At first glance, one might have formed prejudices about me, but the people here quickly put those aside. No one needs to be afraid of me. I am always friendly and open to everyone. Now I have the chance of a lifetime. I can look for my own people. People who will respect and love me just like I am. I am eager to learn and flexible. I know your world yet. Driving, walking on a leash, sitting at the school desk, doing my business outside, all these things I want to learn. Are you a tolerant, kind person who is willing to face the challenge of polishing a raw diamond? Then contact us. Your Donald If you are interested in Donald, please fill out our interest form () or write us an email or a message on Facebook. Donald is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. As Traces, one refers to the database system with which the entire animal transport within the EU is monitored. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months of age, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. The sponsorship for Donald has been taken over by Christelle B. and ensures a full plate. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!.

Also, ich heiße Donald.

About Donald B

What life with Donald B looks like

Donald B is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Donald B, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Donald B?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Donald B on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Donald B if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Donald B already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Donald B isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Donald B and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
