adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Donut has found her home! Her story: The little Donut lives up to her name: she is so incredibly cute and simply irresistible. With her silky fur, the white mask on her face, and the dark button eyes, she looks expectantly into the world. Her soft, tricolor puppy fur makes her a small, very special beauty. Her start in life was not easy – Donuts Mama gave birth to her puppies under a bridge, and two of the puppies unfortunately did not survive. Despite this difficult start, it is wonderful to see how happy, playful, and carefree Donut is today. She curiously explores her surroundings and enjoys the company of people just as much as playing with her siblings. Typical for her age, Donut is open, playful, and full of explorer spirit. She gets along well with other dogs, cats have not been tested yet. Currently, Donut is about 11 weeks old and weighs around 3 kg. Her mother is about 50 cm tall, so it is assumed that Donut will grow to be a medium-sized female dog – perfect for joint walks and small adventures. When the little Donut finally arrives in her family, she would like to learn the dog ABC first, build trust, and explore the world together with her people. She is looking for a home that meets her with patience, loving consistency, and lots of affection. As with all young dogs, puberty will also knock on Donut's door at some point – with calmness, humor, and clear rules, she will master this phase well. Positive working dog training classes and many great experiences will help her grow into a balanced companion. Donut can be adopted starting February. By then, she will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and of course, she will bring her EU pet passport with her. Who would like to give this little beauty a loving home and accompany her on her journey? Donut would also be very happy to have a foster home as a stepping stone to her new happiness. Many thanks to Roxana for giving the little mouse her sweet name. Status: 14.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 14.01.2026

About Donut

What life with Donut looks like

Donut is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Donut, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Donut?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Donut on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Donut if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Donut already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Donut isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Donut and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
