DORI

Female

Dori and Poppy are two female, spayed European Shorthair cats, born around 2018. They came to our shelter due to incontinence. We are looking for a home where they can settle in and get to know their humans. Dori is initially shy and needs some time to gain trust. She usually warms up quickly and seeks out her humans. Poppy is more cautious at first, but she is a very nice and friendly cat. We can imagine larger children from about 12 years old in their new home, as long as they give them the necessary rest and time to settle in. Dori and Poppy are looking for a quiet home in apartment living. Both cats need special urinary food permanently due to their bladder problems. They also receive pain medication due to hip problems and associated pain. Dori sometimes has incontinence with feces. We suspect this is related to her pain. Her medication is currently being discontinued and we hope that this will significantly improve the incontinence. Their future humans should be willing to support them reliably in their treatment and provide them with the necessary medical care.

-0Fax: 089/90 73 20E-Mail

About DORI

What life with DORI looks like

DORI is a adult cat waiting at Tierschutzverein München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting DORI, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about DORI?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw DORI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt DORI if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is DORI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if DORI isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein München early rather than rehoming privately; they know DORI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
