Gemeinsam mit seinen Geschwistern wurde er unter schlimmsten Bedingungen gefunden: Die Welpen waren verstreut auf einer Mülldeponie, einige wurden in einem Keller eines verlassenen Hauses entdeckt, andere zwischen den Trümmern. Sie waren dünn, schwach und in einem sehr schlechten Zustand. Ihre Mutter Adele hatte selbst kaum etwas zu fressen und konnte ihre Welpen deshalb nicht ausreichend versorgen. Zusätzlich kümmerte sie sich noch um Welpen einer überfahrenen Hündin. Heute ist von diesem schwierigen Start zum Glück kaum noch etwas zu sehen. Dot hat sich zu einem fröhlichen und liebenswerten jungen Hund entwickelt. Er versteht sich gut mit Menschen, Kindern und anderen Hunden und auch mit Katzen.
