Dove

Greyhound Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 7 years

Dove's new family will need to be confident to help her learn all she needs to know. We don't know if she's experienced life in a home before and will therefore need some support with the basics like housetraining. We recommend any time being left is built up gradually as she settles in. Dove is a beautiful girl who had arrived in our care with little known about her past. She is affectionate, loving and loves nothing more than being with her people. Like a true Greyhound, she's at her happiest leaning against you for a fuss. Dove could share her home with another dog following a meeting here at the centre. She's been friendly with everyone she meets and could live with lower primary aged children following. Dove loves a comfy bed and would thrive in a home where she can enjoy gentle walkies followed by getting snuggled up for an afternoon snooze! Dove is an ex-racer and does have a high prey drive, so happily wears her muzzle out and about on her walkies.

About Dove

What life with Dove looks like

Dove is an adult greyhound dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dove, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dove?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dove on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dove if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Dove already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dove isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dove and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
