Flora

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 6 years

Flora is a very sweet girlie, who is affectionate and loving with her trusted people. We sadly don't know much about Flora's past so she may need some time and support as she settles into a home environment. This may include things such as housetraining and learning how to settle and relax home alone, which we recommend is gradually built up. Flora's favourite thing in the world is toys. She'll happily play and zoom all day playing fetch or just entertaining herself and is joy to watch! She will truly flourish with dedicated and patient adopters who can see the wonderful Flora we all love! Meet our lovely Flora. She's a worried girl who has found kennel life a little scary. It's taken a little bit of time, but now she's found her paws and made some friends we're seeing the cheeky and affectionate girl she really is. Flora needs a home with adults only who can commit to building a relationship and taking things slow with her. Flora isn't a big fan of other dogs and would really benefit from quiet walking areas where she doesn't have to worry. She has learnt how to wear her muzzled out on her walkies, which helps keep her safe and she knows this means it's time for adventures! Flora must have her own safe and secure garden, where she can play with her favourite toys.

About Flora

What life with Flora looks like

Flora is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Flora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
