Dragon

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 5 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Dragon has found a home! His story: When you look into the eyes of this little puppy, you immediately understand why he is named Dragon – not because he is dangerous, but because he is like a little fairy tale creature that discovers the world with a mix of bravery, curiosity, and a touch of clumsiness. Dragons' story could have turned out very differently: He was found on the roadside with his three siblings, frightened and too small to survive on his own. Today, he is safe, but a shelter is not a home for such a little puppy. Most of the time, he sits behind bars, and what he lacks most is love. Dragon is a true gem despite everything he has experienced. He is alert, playful, and curious. He loves to dart through the enclosure with his siblings, shows interest in people and other dogs, but not overly excited, and he enjoys every form of affection. Currently, he is 3.5 months old and 40 cm tall. When fully grown, he will likely reach a hand-friendly, medium size. The little Dragon wants to learn and be part of a family – and like every puppy, he of course also comes with a small package of mischief in his head. Leash walking, house training, rules, puberty… all that still stands on his to-do list. But with loving guidance and perhaps the support of a positively working dog training class, the little dragon pup will surely become a wonderful companion. Starting in early December, Dragon can travel to his new home, after he has been microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and has an EU pet passport. Are you perhaps the person who can't teach Dragon to breathe fire, but can teach him everything else that makes a dog happy for great joy? Then a little puppy is waiting to finally arrive at your home – in a place with cuddles, security, and a whole lot of love. Many thanks to Ker W.! You have given Dragon his name! As of 10.12.

Vielen Dank Ker W.! Du hast Dragon seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 10.12.2025

About Dragon

What life with Dragon looks like

Dragon is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dragon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dragon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dragon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dragon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dragon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dragon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dragon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
