Duke werd net buiten de stad gevonden met zijn broers en zussen toen ze nog maar 1 maand oud waren. Ze zijn meegenomen naar een kleinschalige shelter en daar verblijven ze. Duke is een vrolijke en energieke vent die heel sociaal is naar mensen en andere honden. Hij is graag in de buurt bij mensen en vindt het gezellig als de vrijwilligers in de shelter zijn. Hij is een slim ventje en heeft dingen snel door, zo loopt hij al aardig aan de riem mee. Hoe Duke op katten en/of kinderen reageert is onbekend. Dit kan uitgetest worden.
