Dylan

Mixed Breed Β· Male

When Dylan first moved in with his foster family, he was very frightened. He was caught together with his littermates and was not used to living with people. He may even have never seen a human before. Dylan still finds it all quite exciting and remains a little on his guard. Once he gets to know you, he now enjoys being cuddled. As long as you don't do it unexpectedly, that is πŸ˜‰ He is very playful and gets along well with the other cats in the foster home. There are also dogs at the foster home, and he is not scared of them at all. For Dylan, we are looking for a home where he can keep working on building trust in people. This will probably go best in a household without young children and with other cats, from whom he can learn that interacting with people can be very nice. We think that in the future he would like to have a place where he can go outside. At the foster home, he is already allowed out onto a completely enclosed balcony. A large enclosed garden would be ideal for Dylan. Going outside unsupervised is still very exciting for him, since he is still somewhat shy.

NLΒ·Show original

About Dylan

What life with Dylan looks like

Dylan is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Kat in Nood in Netherlands.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡³πŸ‡±Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dylan, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dylan?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kat in Nood handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dylan on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dylan if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Kat in Nood will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Dylan already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dylan isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kat in Nood early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dylan and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
