Dżaba

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 13 months

Jabba is looking for a quiet home for his dog retirement ❤️ Jabba came under my care in very complicated circumstances and was initially supposed to stay with me only for a short time. However, the situation turned out to be completely different than expected - after a veterinary consultation, it turned out that despite his 13 years, Jabba is in quite good shape and can have a lot of quiet, good time ahead of him. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide him with a permanent home - I will soon be leaving Kielce for Łódź to study, and my current situation does not allow me to take him with me. That's why I'm looking for a person who will give him what he needs most: a quiet, safe home and a little love. Jabba is an extremely gentle and calm dog. He really likes human contact, but he's not pushy - he patiently waits until someone pays attention to him. He values silence and a quiet corner. He gets along well with other dogs and can find his place even in a larger group. He is no longer a companion for long trips and adventures - it's a dignified dog retiree after all. 😊 He's enough short, quiet walks, a comfortable place to rest and a little caress. He loves treats without limits and you can definitely get to his heart through them. ❤️ As a 13-year-old senior, Jabba is in really good shape. Like every dog retiree, he already has his minor health needs - he takes medications to support heart function on a regular basis and remains under veterinary control. One of the medications has a diuretic effect, so he needs a bit more frequent trips to the toilet. He has poorer vision and hearing, but he copes very well thanks to his excellent sense of smell. Jabba doesn't need big attractions. He needs a person with whom he can spend his days quietly - take a walk, rest a lot, get a treat and a portion of affection. If you are looking for a gentle friend for quiet, lazy evenings, Jabba may be just such a companion.

Ceni sobie ciszę i spokojny kąt. 😊 Wystarczą mu krótkie, spokojne spacery, wygodne miejsce do odpoczynku i trochę pieszczot.

About Dżaba

What life with Dżaba looks like

Dżaba is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dżaba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dżaba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dżaba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dżaba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dżaba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dżaba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dżaba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
