How do I contact the shelter about SOFI?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SOFI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt SOFI if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is SOFI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if SOFI isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know SOFI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

SOFI – WE’RE LOOKING FOR A LOVING HOME FOR HER! Here’s Sofi—a special 10-year-old senior dog who’s searching for her dream home. This gentle lady, weighing 14.5 kg, now needs something that no shelter can ever provide: peace, safety, and unconditional love. Sofi is very frightened, and the world seems like a big, scary place to her. She doesn’t know how to walk on a leash, nor does she have any idea what a regular home routine is like. She’ll require patient training and understanding—but most importantly, she needs responsible caregivers who are ready for this challenge. For Sofi, an ideal home would be calm and safe, where she can explore the world at her own pace. Every small step forward will be a huge victory. This extraordinary girl is waiting—and she deserves to spend her final years in a warm home, surrounded by care and love. If your heart is ready for this special mission, if you have the patience and time for a senior dog who may need behavioral work—Sofi is waiting just for you. Give her a chance at happiness in a home that will become her beautiful haven. Who will give her a forever home???? Sofi is registered under number GB/21/5/26. She has been vaccinated against rabies and infectious diseases and is microchipped. She’s currently awaiting spaying surgery. About SOFI

What life with SOFI looks like

SOFI is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.
