Echo & Elmo

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Super sweet brothers Echo & Elmo were reluctantly brought to us due to their owners moving to a house where the garden is not secure enough for them and they are desperate to go outside as they had done previously. Their owners did not think it was fair to keep them inside and so we are looking for a home where they can go out but the garden has to be secure or have a catio at the minimum. We will need to see pictures or a possible homecheck. Ideally, they would need someone familiar with the breed or to have done research beforehand as they do require a bit more care and they have not been around dogs so would prefer a home without a dog. They have lived with another sphynx but have not been around others and they are used to young children. These boys are very affectionate and love to be loved! About Echo & Elmo

What life with Echo & Elmo looks like

Echo & Elmo is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Leicester Animal Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Echo & Elmo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Echo & Elmo?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Leicester Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Echo & Elmo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Echo & Elmo if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Leicester Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Echo & Elmo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Echo & Elmo isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Leicester Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Echo & Elmo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
