Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.BREED: Terrier Cross SEX: Female (Neutered)AGE: Aprox. 1 YearSIZE: Small/MediumEclipse was found as a stray but was never reclaimed, and has been in a foster home prior to coming to DBARC to find a loving, permanent home. Her fosterer says she is lovely natured and very friendly dog who just loves meeting people and is very very cuddly, likely to throw herself on her back so that she can get tup=mmy rubs! She has been very good with the fosterer's teenage children, but might be a bit too bouncy for children under 10 years. She has not met cats or small pets, and whilst she is very good and very playful with dogs, she can be quite excitable and vocal on first meeting a new dog and this behaviour will need to be resolved by immediately ensuring that she socialises with calm, friendly dogs and by taking her to dog training clasees so that she becomes habituated to other dogs in a controlled environment. This will also help her in general as Eclipse is a young dog who needs standard basic dog training as she is unlikely to have had much in the way of canine education.Eclipse is a delightful youngster, full of love and energy. Sheis going to need an active an interesting lifestyle, and company most of the time.When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands.
