Eddie

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Male · Young · 2 years

Staffordshire Terrier-Pitbullmix Eddie was born around 2024 and came to us as a found dog on December 21, 2025. Eddie needs dog-experienced people who can bring him some peace into his daily routine. At first, he was very overwhelmed by the animal shelter routine and didn’t know what to do with himself and his temperament. We quickly noticed that Eddie hasn’t really been around many people. Eddie shows a very friendly and open attitude towards people and quickly warms up to them. However, Eddie can also be very distant. He runs into people full speed, jumps at them, or nips at their hands. He doesn’t know what it means to be at rest, which is why he needs people who can show him how to simply enjoy a cuddle. On the way, the young male dog was very restless and quickly became overwhelmed. Leash handling is a foreign concept to Eddie. He is completely distracted by the scents and encounters around him. Eddie has an extreme urge to want to go to any dog he meets. We now know that he at least doesn’t have any bad intentions when it comes to the dogs he has gotten to know better. But even there, he is very boundless and gets very into the dog interactions. We can now proudly say that Eddie’s behavior has improved through intensive training. While it’s still a long way until Eddie becomes a more calm dog, he is also still very young and has a lot to catch up on that his previous owners simply missed teaching him. Eddie is simply a clown on four legs. He has a lot of potential! Which experienced dog friend would like to make Eddie their faithful companion?

In ihm steckt viel Potential! Welcher erfahrene Hundefreund möchte aus Eddie seinen treuen Begleiter machen?

About Eddie

What life with Eddie looks like

Eddie is a young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Tierheim Paderborn in Paderborn.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eddie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eddie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Paderborn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eddie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eddie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Paderborn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eddie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eddie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Paderborn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eddie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
