Eddie

Greyhound · Unknown

Eddie💙 Eddie is one of those greyhounds who captures your heart without even trying. Sweet, kind and wonderfully caring, he has such a gentle nature that simply being around him brings a sense of calm and comfort. From the very first moment you meet him, you can’t help but warm to him. He has a quiet way of making everyone feel special, and there is something so incredibly genuine about the love he gives that makes him impossible to forget. He is a firm favourite amongst our staff, volunteers and visitors, and it really isn’t difficult to understand why. Eddie has one of those beautiful personalities that seems to win over everyone he meets. He is friendly, affectionate and so easy to love, always happy to make a new friend and share his kind heart with anyone willing to give him a fuss. There is never a shortage of cuddles for Eddie because everyone who spends time with him quickly falls in love with the wonderful dog that he is.One of my favourite things about Eddie is just how gentle he is. He has such a calm, easy-going outlook on life and takes everything in his stride. He never feels the need to be the loudest or the centre of attention because his beautiful personality speaks for itself. He has such a peaceful presence about him, and simply spending time with him has a way of making even the busiest days feel a little calmer.Although Eddie is wonderfully laid back, he still has a lovely playful side that shines through at just the right moments. He enjoys getting out on his walks, exploring the world around him and making happy memories with the people he loves before happily settling down for a well-earned snooze afterwards. Like every greyhound, he certainly appreciates the finer things in life, a cosy bed, a comfortable sofa and plenty of opportunities to stretch out and relax, but more than anything, he simply wants to be close to his favourite people.Eddie absolutely adores human company and forms such meaningful bonds with those around him. He has so much love to give and gives it so effortlessly. Whether he is quietly standing beside you waiting for a gentle fuss, leaning into you for affection or simply relaxing by your side, he has a beautiful way of reminding you that sometimes the smallest moments are the most special. His companionship feels so natural, and I truly believe he is the sort of dog who will become your shadow, always happiest simply sharing life with the people he loves. He is also such a wonderful representative of everything that makes greyhounds so special. Gentle, affectionate, loyal and kind, Eddie has all of those qualities people fall in love with when they meet the breed. He has such a lovely balance to his personality, making him equally happy joining you on a nice walk, relaxing at home or simply enjoying your company. He doesn’t ask for much in life, just love, kindness and a family to call his own. There is something incredibly special about Eddie that is difficult to put into words. He isn’t the loudest dog in the room or the one demanding attention, yet somehow he always leaves the biggest impression. Some greyhounds leave paw prints behind… Eddie leaves a lasting place in your heart. He has so much love to give, and I know without a doubt that the family lucky enough to welcome him home won’t just be gaining a dog, they’ll be gaining a loyal best friend, a constant source of comfort and a companion whose gentle heart will make every single day that little bit brighter. He really is such a good boy. I know that probably sounds like such a simple thing to say, but honestly, it describes Eddie perfectly. He is the definition of a good boy in every sense of the word. I don’t think I have ever met such a well-behaved greyhound who asks for so little and gives so much in return. He never causes any trouble, never makes a fuss and is always so happy to patiently wait his turn.More than anything, I would love to see him finally settled in a forever home because I truly believe that is where his cheeky little personality will really begin to shine. I know there is another side to Eddie just waiting to blossom once he has the confidence and security that only a family of his own can give him.He really is a little love bug through and through. Every cuddle, every gentle lean and every quiet moment spent beside you feels so meaningful because of the way Eddie gives his affection. He has one of those hearts that makes you feel completely loved without ever asking for anything in return. He is such a special boy and so deserving of his very own sofa, a family to spoil him and people to finally call his own.Eddie is currently sharing his kennel with Lola, and the two of them get along beautifully. They really are like two peas in a pod, often found snuggled up together and sharing the sweetest little moments. Watching them together is enough to melt anyone’s heart.Because Eddie is naturally such a social, gentle and easy-going boy, we know he would happily live with another greyhound or even a small, calm group of hounds in his forever home. Every greyhound he meets seems to adore him, and we have no doubt he would fit beautifully into a home with friendly companions. That said, Eddie is also wonderfully independent and incredibly adaptable. Although he enjoys the company of other greyhounds, he absolutely adores humans above all else, and I know he would be just as happy as the only dog in the home, soaking up every cuddle, every fuss and every bit of love for himself.Eddie settled into life here at Clarks Farm like he had always belonged. From the moment he arrived, he was completely comfortable with the staff, settled straight into our routine and has never looked back. He has never caused a fuss, never made life difficult and has always been on his very best behaviour. He really is one of those greyhounds who takes everything in his stride, making him an absolute pleasure to care for every single day.He is also a regular at our Meet the Breed sessions and events, where he has done an incredible job of showing people just how wonderful greyhounds really are. Eddie has helped so many people fall in love with the breed through his calm, gentle and affectionate nature, and he has changed so many people’s perceptions simply by being himself. He has spent his time helping so many of his greyhound friends find their forever homes, and now we think it’s finally time for somebody to fall forever in love with him.Eddie absolutely adores people of all ages and has been nothing but gentle, patient and kind with every child he has met. We feel he would happily fit into a family home with children aged five years and over who are confident around larger dogs. His calm, affectionate and incredibly patient nature makes him such a wonderful companion, and watching him interact with children at our events has been nothing short of lovely. He is endlessly gentle, wonderfully understanding and simply takes everything in his stride.Equally, Eddie would be perfectly happy in a calm, adult-only home where he could enjoy slow mornings, peaceful afternoons and endless cuddles on the sofa. One of the things I admire most about Eddie is just how adaptable he is. Whether your home is busy and full of family life or quiet and peaceful, I know Eddie would settle beautifully. His laid-back personality means he naturally fits around the people he loves, and wherever he goes, he brings with him such a calming, comforting presence.Whether you live in a bustling town or somewhere surrounded by countryside, I genuinely believe Eddie will make himself at home. He has charmed absolutely everyone he has ever met and has shown them exactly why greyhounds are such incredible companions. Whether you are adopting your very first greyhound or looking to welcome another into your family, Eddie really is everything you could hope for. He is one of the easiest boys in the world to love, and I promise that the second you meet him, you will understand why every si

About Eddie

What life with Eddie looks like

Eddie is a large adult greyhound dog waiting at Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eddie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eddie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eddie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eddie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eddie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eddie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eddie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
