He loves meeting new people and is always ready to make new friends, happily spreading that Blaze glow wherever he goes.Blaze absolutely adores his greyhound friends and gets along with everyone thanks to his kind, easy-going nature. He has happily shared his kennel with multiple female kennel mates, never making a complaint and always sharing his space with calm warmth. It is clear he enjoys the company of other hounds, and his gentle fire makes him a comforting presence to be around. Because of this, we do believe Blaze would love to live alongside a friendly female greyhound in his forever home, sharing his days, his humans, and his cosy spots. That said, Blaze also has a big love for people, and we can easily imagine him being just as happy as the only hound in the home, soaking up all the attention like a cat by the fire. Whether he shares his home or not, all Blaze truly needs is love, support, and someone who lets his light shine.Blaze is a true people lover and has so much warmth for humans big and small, as long as they are kind, gentle, and respectful. He would happily live with mature children who understand when he needs space and know how to enjoy his affection without being too hands on. Blaze loves attention, but he also values his rest, and after his little bursts of flame, he enjoys settling down for a good snooze. Because of this, he would also thrive in an adult-only home where he can be the glowing centre of his humans world and enjoy a calm, cosy retirement filled with love. You may be wondering why such a wonderful boy has been marked as orange, and the reason is simply that Blaze is still working through his small dog test. During his first test, he seemed unsure around Blossom and did not quite understand what she was or what was expected of him. His reactions to other breeds have been vocal, with some barking and little jumps, and it was clear this came from a place of anxiety rather than anything unkind. Blossom felt like an unknown to him, and that uncertainty caused his flame to flicker rather than burn steadily. We ended the test early, and from what we saw, a gentle training plan was put in place to help him build confidence.Blaze has already started his work with Blossom, and each week we are seeing small sparks of progress that make us so proud. Becoming fully comfortable with every breed will take time, but this early work is giving him the tools he needs to face the world with more confidence. It breaks our hearts that being a black boy who needs a little extra support can mean he is overlooked, but we hope people will see past that small ember and notice the incredible boy he truly is. With loving, patient humans by his side, Blaze will continue to grow and glow in his training. There is a forever sofa waiting for him, and home life is exactly where this sweet boy is meant to shine. He deserves every bit of the love he gives out, and we cannot wait to see him finally get the happy ending he is so worthy of.Blaze is ready to light up a lucky home with his warmth, loyalty, and endless affection. All he needs is someone willing to tend his flame, and in return, he will keep your heart glowing for a lifetime. About Blaze

What life with Blaze looks like

Blaze is a large adult greyhound dog waiting at Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blaze, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blaze?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blaze on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blaze if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blaze already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blaze isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blaze and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
