Da Kati, die Mutter der Tierheimleiterin Kata, stadtbekannt als Aufnahmestelle für gefunden Tiere ist, brachten die jungen Leute das Hundchen für die Nacht zu ihr und am nächsten Morgen kam er dann ins Tierheim. Kata sagt, Eddie Murphy sei ein typischer Dackel: aufgeweckt, neugierig, unternehmungslustig, bellt im Zwinger, um auf sich aufmerksam zu machen ;-), menschenbezogen und freundlich zu jedem. In neuen Situationen kann er zunächst noch etwas unsicher sein, aber das legt sich bereits nach kurzer Zeit. Mit seinen Artgenossen kommt der süße Hundebub ebenfalls prima zurecht.
