Adopt Eine Vermittlungshilfe

Mixed Breed · Female

Eine Vermittlungshilfe who is very close to my heart, Kira. Kira spent many of her nine years with an elderly couple. A good, sheltered life after she came to Germany from Romania. Unfortunately, both passed away last year, and Kira has been alone in the apartment for half a year now. She is lovingly cared for by the neighbors and spends a lot of time outside with them in the courtyard, and she is allowed to accompany them on visits and the like. But it’s just not a real home of her own. The deceased's wish was that Kira should not have to go to an animal shelter, and everyone is honoring that. Kira is a small female dog who, after a settling-in period, attaches herself to her people; she is then very clingy and rather distrustful of strangers. She’s not very comfortable with unfamiliar dogs either—she needs a little support there. She needs time to settle in and build trust. Then she is a really great buddy, I’ve seen it during our meetings. She then tries to shield “her” people from anything unfamiliar, especially in her home. Once she has found her people, she needs a lot of affection and returns it twofold or threefold. Kira not only has a past in Romania—there’s not much to say about that—and the loss of her family to cope with, but she also experienced the nightmare of the 2021 flood.

About Eine Vermittlungshilfe

What life with Eine Vermittlungshilfe looks like

Eine Vermittlungshilfe is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Nordeifel e.V. in Bad Münstereifel.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eine Vermittlungshilfe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eine Vermittlungshilfe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Nordeifel e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eine Vermittlungshilfe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eine Vermittlungshilfe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Nordeifel e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eine Vermittlungshilfe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eine Vermittlungshilfe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Nordeifel e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eine Vermittlungshilfe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
