Adopt Elden

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Elden and Eisa were introduced to us by a private animal welfare worker who reached out to our partner shelter for help. They previously lived with a family in an impoverished neighborhood – under conditions that were far from ideal. At the beginning, Elden was not doing well, suffering from anemia. But happily, both are now doing well and ready for their new lives! Elden and Eisa are just regular puppies – small whirlwinds with a big explorer spirit. They are curious, interested, open-minded, and playful. They seek contact, are approachable, and enjoy cuddles to the fullest. In short: Two young dogs ready to conquer the world. Of course, they still have a lot to learn. House training, puppy ABCs, everyday routines – the full puppy program is still on their list. They are also compatible with other dogs. For Elden and Eisa, we are looking for people who are consciously choosing a young dog. People who are willing to foster, challenge, and give them a loving home where they can be full-fledged family members. They can almost adapt to any environment – as long as they get the chance to settle in and go through life with their people. Elden and Eisa do not have to be rehomed together. NOTEAs castration awareness has significantly decreased in Germany, and we do not want to force "accident puppies" or conditions like mammary tumors or prostate cancer, we reserve the right to charge a castration deposit for puppies. This amounts to 300 € for male dogs and 450 € for female dogs. This money, along with the normal adoption fee, should be transferred and will be immediately refunded to the adopter upon the veterinarian's castration confirmation, including the chip number. About Elden

What life with Elden looks like

Elden is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. in Marsberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elden, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elden?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elden on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elden if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elden already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elden isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elden and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
