Adopt Eleonora

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

It's puppy season, and with it comes the sad time when unwanted babies are simply abandoned and left to their fate. We will always find it hard to understand how people can do such things. If not found and with the help of our partners, these four puppy babies would undoubtedly have died. Infested with parasites, starved, dehydrated. Or killed by stray dogs or wild animals. But they were lucky and were taken in by the rescue of Paola and Pierpaolo. Here, they were fed and freed from the painful parasites. When we met the four little ones during our team project tour in mid-April 2026, they had already recovered well. Fortunately, nothing reminded us of the hardships the babies had to endure. For their final happiness, all that Eleonora and her brother Elfo, Ermes, and Edi now need is a home with loving people. For however well and lovingly they are treated in the rescue: it is no substitute for a family of their own. As soon as possible, Eleonora, Elfo, Ermes, and Edi should now travel to Germany so that they can find their dream home forever. Would you give one of these little treasures the chance to have a wonderful dog life with a close family connection? If you are currently looking for a new furry family member and are aware that adoption brings not only great joy but also a lot of work and great responsibility, we look forward to your message. We provide support throughout the country.

About Eleonora

What life with Eleonora looks like

Eleonora is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eleonora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eleonora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eleonora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eleonora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eleonora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eleonora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eleonora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
