ELISA (PPP)

Mixed Breed · Female

A soft soul behind a loud first impression Elisa is a medium-sized Staffordshire Bull Terrier (PPP) , and like all PPP dogs in Spain she requires a simple licence , which we can of course help with. Outside of Spain, she does not usually require this type of licence. She is also able to travel to most European countries and the UK She didn’t arrive with an easy start. When she came to us, she was in very poor condition — underweight and needing an operation . Since then, she has come such a long way. She is now stronger, healthier, and ready for the next chapter: a forever home where she can finally relax and belong Elisa is an affectionate, people-focused dog . She doesn’t just enjoy human company — she seeks it out. If you stop near her, she will often pause too, look up at you, and quietly ask for a cuddle as if to say, “are you here for me?” Those moments show her true nature: soft, loving, and very connected to people she trusts On walks, she likes to feel part of a group, but not at the centre of it. She is most comfortable walking slightly behind, where she can observe, stay safe, and still feel included . That small detail tells you a lot about her — she wants to belong, but she needs reassurance while she does it. With other dogs, Elisa can appear loud, vocal, and very self-assured . She may bark or lunge towards them, but this is not true confidence or aggression. It is fear speaking first — a way of saying “go away” while also, confusingly, wanting to connect. Once the dog has passed and she is calmly turned to walk behind them, she settles quickly and becomes much more relaxed. The reaction fades because the threat has gone. In reality, Elisa is caught between curiosity and fear . She does want to engage with the world and other dogs, but at the moment her nervous system reacts faster than her confidence can catch up. Fear is still stronger than curiosity — but the curiosity is there, waiting. She is very affectionate and will often stop mid-walk just to look at you, quietly asking for a moment of closeness . She thrives on gentle reassurance and calm guidance. Elisa is not a first-time dog ; she will do best with someone who already has experience with sensitive, expressive dogs and can read her signals with confidence and patience. In the right hands, this simply means she has the space and understanding she needs to flourish. The right adopter for Elisa will not be someone expecting perfection, but someone who can read her carefully, recognise when she is overwhelmed, and help her feel safe enough to grow . With patience and understanding, she has every chance of becoming the confident, happy dog we already see glimpses of. Some dogs don’t need saving twice — just someone patient enough to let them arrive. What she needs now isn’t rescue, it’s someone who stays Castrated 13/11/25 Approx weight 14/01/26: 23.5kgs Elisa has tested positive for Leishmania Approx weight 04/03/26: 24.5kgs Approx weight 15/04/26: 22kgs Approx weight 29/04/26: 24.75kg Approx weight 20/05/26: 24.75kg Approx weight 10/06/26: 22.5kg

About ELISA (PPP)

What life with ELISA (PPP) looks like

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting ELISA (PPP), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ELISA (PPP)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Murcia) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ELISA (PPP) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ELISA (PPP) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Murcia) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ELISA (PPP) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ELISA (PPP) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Murcia) early rather than rehoming privately; they know ELISA (PPP) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
