Elli und Joelina

Female · Young · 3 years

We are the two 3-year-old Nymphy ladies Joelina and Elli. We haven't learned much yet and are therefore a bit scared and very reserved. Joelina was given up as Joel, but a DNA test confirmed the suspicion that she is female. We don't cling to each other too much, so we could also move to a rooster separately. Then, please on the same day, so that neither of us is left alone! It would also be ideal to find a new home with two roosters or a flock with a shortage of ladies. Since Nymphsittich hens are rather rare, we hope to find a new home soon. 🙏🏻 If you are interested in us, just send an email and tell us about our possible new home!

DE·Show original

About Elli und Joelina

What life with Elli und Joelina looks like

Elli und Joelina is a young adult bird waiting at Tierheim Stuttgart in Stuttgart.

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elli und Joelina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elli und Joelina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Stuttgart handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elli und Joelina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elli und Joelina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Stuttgart will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elli und Joelina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most birds on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elli und Joelina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Stuttgart early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elli und Joelina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
