adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Emil has found its own home! His story: Our little Emil could travel to his foster home in early June. From there, he is now searching for his own home. Although the little Emil has already adapted quite well, one still notices how much the separation from his sister has affected him. A little heap of misery was given to his foster mom. A few weeks have passed, and Emil is doing better and is already showing his charming side. He is house-trained, travels confidently in the car, goes well on the leash, and can already stay alone for a little while. This is with the only dog he also gets along well with. Maybe he is a bit reserved towards unfamiliar people at first, but warms up quickly and then is a very cuddly little puppy. Currently, Emil is about 11 months old and 30 cm tall. He will definitely stay small. Judging by his age, he is now entering puberty. He is looking for someone who can stand by him during this hormone chaos and provide the necessary understanding and support so that he can grow into a great dog. At the moment, one can still see no signs of hormone chaos. He is very oriented towards the existing only dog and wants to do everything right. Emil would never deliberately annoy you. A visit to a positively working dog training class would certainly please him. Living children in the household should already be old enough to understand the new companion and not misunderstand. Although the foster family is very nice, Emil still wants to find his own family where he can stay forever. Also with a friendly first-time dog owner. Because the little male dog is absolutely uncomplicated and easy to get along with. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and brings his own EU pet passport. Against an adoption fee of 500 Euros, he can move in. Would you like to meet Emil? Then contact us. Thank you Stephanie! You gave Emil his sweet name. Status: 28.06.

Vielen Dank Stephanie ! Du hast Emil seinen süßen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 28.06.2025

About Emil

What life with Emil looks like

Emil is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Emil, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Emil?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Emil on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Emil if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Emil already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Emil isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Emil and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
