Emmett is a very clever, obedient and fundamentally friendly dog. He is a working line Labrador and brings corresponding requirements for his new owners. Emmett craves healthy exercise - both mentally and physically - and is not for couch potatoes. We assume extensive exercise and existing knowledge in the care and (fair!) upbringing of dogs like Emmett. Emmett is not suitable for dog beginners. Emmett is actually a very open-hearted, cheerful dog. However, he can be skeptical and at least growl at strangers, children or generally intrusive actions (such as physical examinations at the vet). Emmett may also bark loudly if someone approaches him suddenly or in a "strange" way. He needs people by his side to give him the necessary security, so that he can withdraw to the "second row" in such situations and not feel the need to bark. Emmett already lived with us in the animal shelter: He was found as a young dog in 2024, not picked up and after the expiration of the finding period, he was placed. He showed then a silly and open, friendly behavior with a "what's the world coming to" attitude. A typical Labrador teenager, a bit chubby, we wondered why he was not missing. Unfortunately, it turned out that he was not.

Er ist ein Labrador aus der Arbeitslinie und bringt entsprechend Anforderungen an seine neuen Halter mit. Emmett lechzt nach gesunder Beschäftigung - sowohl geistig, als auch körperlich - und ist nichts für Couch-Potatoes. Lust auf ausgiebige Bewegung und schon vorhandene Kenntnisse in der Haltung und (fairen!) Erziehung von Hunden wie Emmett setzen wir voraus. Für Hundeanfänger eignet Emmett sich nicht. Eigentlich ist Emmett ein sehr offenherziger, fröhlicher Hund. Bei Fremden, Kindern oder allgemein bei übergriffigen Handlungen (wie z. B. körperlichen Untersuchungen beim Tierarzt) kann er aber durchaus skeptisch und mindestens mit Knurren reagieren. Auch wenn jemand Fremdes sich plötzlich oder auf "merkwürdige" Art und Weise nähert, kann Emmett darauf mit lautstarkem Verbellen reagieren. Hier braucht er Menschen an seiner Seite, die ihm die nötige Sicherheit geben, sodass er sich getrost in die "zweite Reihe" zurückziehen kann und es in solchen Situationen gar nicht als nötig ansieht zu pöbeln. Emmett lebte schon einmal bei uns im Tierheim: Er wurde 2024 als Junghund herrenlos aufgefunden, nicht abgeholt und nach Ablauf der Fundfrist vermittelt. Er zeigte damals ein albernes und offenes, freundliches Verhalten mit "Was kostet die Welt"-Attitüde.
