adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this cat! Emrys and Kyren have found their home! Their story: The siblings Emrys and Kyren are true fighters. They were found alone on a street in Cluj and were suffering from panleukopenia at the time. This is often a deadly viral disease in cats. Despite their young age, they have overcome the illness and are now well. The illness is over, and no further treatment is necessary. Unfortunately, the virus has also left its mark, as Emrys is still significantly underdeveloped for his age, which is a typical reaction to the strong treatment. Nonetheless, he lives up to his name, as Emrys is Welsh and means "immortal" or "Eternal." The name Kyren likely comes from Irish and means "black" or "dark-haired," which is fittingly so. The two kittens, despite their difficult past, are very friendly and affectionate and long nothing more than a loving forever home. Therefore, they are eagerly waiting for their new family in a foster home in Cluj. As the two kittens are very attached to each other, we would like to place them together. They also get along with other cats. Whether they get along with dogs is unfortunately not known. Emrys and Kyren are rehomed as pure indoor cats due to their young age, but they would certainly be very happy with a cat-safe netted balcony where they can simply stretch their legs. The siblings can now start their journey to their new home and are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. Additionally, they have tested negative for FIV and FeLV and come with an EU pet passport.

About Emrys & Kyren

What life with Emrys & Kyren looks like

Emrys & Kyren is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Emrys & Kyren, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Emrys & Kyren?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Emrys & Kyren on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Emrys & Kyren if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Emrys & Kyren already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Emrys & Kyren isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Emrys & Kyren and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
