Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 2 months

Eric Gender: Male Birth: 07/2026 At the shelter since: 14.08.2026 Origin: Found animal Shoulder height: still growing. Neutered: no Handicaps: none Compatible with: Dogs: yes Children: does not know children yet Vaccinated and chipped: yes EU pet passport: yes Adoption fee: €530 Eric and his siblings appeared suddenly one day in front of our farm gate. Without a mother, they tried to get attention loudly and the situation left no doubt that someone had intentionally abandoned the little ones. Of course, we took the siblings in and fortunately all eight have developed well and are now ready to search for their forever families. Our "blue-eyed" siblings are very lively, curious and friendly siblings who bring a lot of energy. At our shelter, they are currently getting to know all sizes and ages of dogs to lay the foundation for extensive socialization. They are also getting used to walking on a leash and living in the house alongside our volunteers. Eric is an open-minded male who moves in the middle of his siblings in terms of character. He is already quite confident and remains relaxed even when his fellow dogs are a bit more rough with him. He accepts boundaries set by other dogs without being intimidated. Due to their appearance and behavior, we can imagine that the siblings carry a portion of Husky, Shepherd and Herding Dog in them. Their future families should deal with the characteristics of all these breeds and be prepared for such traits to occur. Since this can come with a challenge, we are looking for people with dog experience for the siblings. A home on the outskirts of the city or better still in a rural area should also be available. We assume that the siblings will grow quite large, perhaps around 55-65cm. Since we do not know the parent animals, we cannot make any exact statements and it is possible that they reach a few more or less centimeters. We set regular contact with conspecifics and other people, as well as everyday training adapted to the new living conditions.

About ERIC

What life with ERIC looks like

ERIC is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting ERIC, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ERIC?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ERIC on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ERIC if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ERIC already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ERIC isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know ERIC and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
