Erin

Cocker Spaniel Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 5 years

I can live with older children, aged 16+, who understand I need time to settle in. I will need a kind resident dog to take me under their wing. I have never met cats. I would like a secure garden to spend time in. I’ve never been on walks before and will need a gentle introduction. I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training. I will be spayed before finding my forever home. 20-10-26 Erin has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a special home of her own. She is a brave girl that originally came to us quite nervous, but has since come out of her shell a bit, and will now greet you with a waggy tail. However, she can be nervous with new people so her adopters will need to go slow with her initially. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens, aged 16+ who are sensible and allow her time to settle in at her own pace. Erin will be looking for a calm and quiet home with adopters who have experience with ex-breeding dogs and who will allow her to build her own confidence. She will also need a kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her, as she relies on the company and reassurance of other dogs. Erin has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she learns all about home life and new skills like house training. She will also need to learn all about walking on a lead and harness, first practicing around the garden until she is feeling brave enough to venture further. We can already tell that she is a very sweet girl and in the right home we think she is going to truly thrive. Erin has been given the Gift of Life by Lianne Bishop Through the generosity of a Gift of Life sponsor, this dog was able to leave behind an uncertain future in Ireland and find safety and care at Many Tears. Every sponsorship helps us rescue and save more dogs in desperate need. If you would like to become part of a rescue story, please consider donating to our Gift of Life fund. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Erin

What life with Erin looks like

Erin is an adult cocker spaniel dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Erin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Erin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Erin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Erin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Erin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Erin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Erin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
