Moxy is a worried little girl who has come to us from a breeder and is now in foster, where she is beginning to show her lovely, affectionate personality. She is still a little nervous and can be unsure around new people, but as she learns that she can trust you, we are seeing more of her sweet side. In the evenings, Moxy will come up to her fosterers for a cuddle on her own terms, which is lovely to see as she continues to grow in confidence. Moxy will need an adult-only home with adopters who have experience with ex-breeding dogs and understand that she will need time, patience and kindness to settle into her new life. A calm, quiet home with minimal disruption will be important, allowing her to feel safe and build a bond with her new family at her own pace. She will also need a kind and confident resident dog to help her continue building her confidence and show her the ropes. Moxy has never lived in a home before and is currently learning about house training and the routines of home life in her foster home. Her new family will need to continue helping her with these things patiently, as well as gently introducing her to walking on a lead. Moxy has shown signs of digging in her foster home, so she will need an extra-secure garden to help keep her safe while she explores outside. Moxy arrived with sore eyes, and our vet noted that her lower eyelid is irregular, although it is not currently causing her any issues. Her vision is also slightly reduced, but she gets around well and this doesn't stop her from enjoying life. She also arrived with sore skin and old concrete sores, which we hope will continue to improve. Moxy has already come such a long way, and it is wonderful to see her slowly learning to trust the people around her. She may not be the kind of girl who immediately runs up to greet you, but with time, patience and a calm home where she can feel safe, we know she has so much more to give. We would love to find Moxy the special family who will let her settle at her own pace and discover just how lovely life can be. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
