Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha

Unknown

Hallo, we are Erwin, Hildegard and Roswitha! Erwin was surrendered to the shelter, while Hildegard and Roswitha were found together. We met here and have grown into a real team. That's why we want to move into our new home together. We are a quiet and relaxed group of rabbits who enjoy exploring our enclosure together and are happy about tasty snacks. Hildegard is the most courageous of us and greets visitors curiously as soon as someone approaches our enclosure. Erwin and Roswitha prefer to observe new people from a distance at first, but become more curious by the day. However, living with other rabbits is a bit more difficult, because Erwin reacts very sensitively to introductions and also attacks rabbits he already knows. Since we are now a harmonious and well-coordinated group, we are looking for a home together where we can stay together. Hildegard is currently being treated for an eye infection, otherwise we are unobtrusive and all vaccinated. For our new home, we are looking for a loving family with a large, predator-proof outdoor enclosure, plenty of space to hop, dig and discover, as well as a species-appropriate diet. Whoever gives us a forever home will receive a lovable group of rabbits that enjoys life to the fullest. If you would like to meet us, please contact the shelter. Your Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha If you are interested in our small animals, we cordially invite you to our adoption times at the shelter.

About Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha

What life with Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha looks like

Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha is a large adult rabbit waiting at Tierschutzverein St. Pölten in St. Pölten.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein St. Pölten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein St. Pölten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein St. Pölten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Erwin, Hildegard & Roswitha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
