Adopt Euro

Greyhound · Unknown · Puppy

Euro is in foster care in Southampton, Hampshire, he arrived in our care on the 2nd of March 2026 and he was born on the 12th of September 2020. This lad is a friendly boy who is going to make a perfect addition to his new family. He has grown in confidence and has adapted to home living really well. Let’s find him that home that he really does deserve. Euro is an inquisitive boy who loves his walk and will take it all in his stride! He also enjoys giving his human friends lots of kisses. No dull day with this boy around! This lad is housetrained, enjoys his nice, comfy bed and can be quite lazy especially about getting up in the mornings! He understands the rules and routines of the house and follows them well. As long as he has his toys and a comfy bed, Euro will be putty in your hands! He really is such a sweet boy. Euro loves his outings, travels well and can jump in and out of the car. This boy enjoys having cuddles with his human friends and will lean right into you, he especially enjoys being brushed! Euro likes to quietly say hello to new people, will snuggle his way into you and then give you a very large lean, to the point he could fall over if you move! Euro has had 11 teeth out since arriving in our care. He now has some white ‘knashers’ and is feeling a lot better for getting rid of those nasty teeth! Euro is used to having his teeth brushed every day and would love his new owner to keep doing it too. This cheeky chappie currently has a bald behind, he enjoys his daily Burts Bee rub, massaging those thighs and promoting that hair to grow back, which it has started too. I think Euro would like any new owner to continue this, I think he rather enjoys it and of course he smells lovely afterwards too! Euro enjoys chasing after a thrown toy but is very particular which toys he will pick up and run around with! He loves squeaky, tennis balls and fluffy toys, if you are missing anything that is fluffy you might find it in Euro’s bed! This boy really LOVES his

About Euro

What life with Euro looks like

Euro is a large puppy/kitten greyhound dog waiting at Greyhound Lifeline in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Euro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Euro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Greyhound Lifeline handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Euro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Euro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Greyhound Lifeline will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Euro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Euro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Greyhound Lifeline early rather than rehoming privately; they know Euro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
