Eva

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Eva is just one year old and still a very young female dog. At the shelter, she has the chance to learn a bit more about the world and show what a great companion she can be. She is friendly towards people and enjoys attention and time together. Although she still has a lot to learn, she is easy to guide and doesn't make things unnecessarily difficult. She is curious about her surroundings and wants to be involved when something happens. Eva also gets along well with children, making her a good candidate as a family dog. She is also friendly and compatible with other dogs. She is not dominant and is open to her counterpart. Eva is still young and has a lot of life ahead of her. She is looking for people who can discover the world with her, teach her something, and show her how beautiful a home can be. All it really takes is a bit of patience, time together, and someone who finally sees Eva for what she could be: a really great companion. Glück für Pfoten e.V. - The Way to a New Life - Tel. and WhatsApp: Mail: Adoption fee: €490 incl. safety harness Since we are employed, we may not be able to get back to you until a few hours later. It's best to contact the above-mentioned mediator in writing (by e-mail or WhatsApp) first and ask for a callback (don't forget to include your phone number if necessary). Please be patient! Our protégés travel with Traces and are only placed in Germany (nationwide). If you would like to apply for a dog and live in a rented apartment, please arrange for a written landlord's certificate stating that the keeping of a (further or new) dog is permitted. We only place dogs on the 2nd floor if there is no elevator to prevent health problems.

About Eva

What life with Eva looks like

Eva is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Glück für Pfoten e.V. in Dortmund.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eva, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eva?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glück für Pfoten e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eva on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eva if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glück für Pfoten e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eva already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eva isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glück für Pfoten e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eva and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
