Adopt Eva

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 9 years

Name: Eva. Breed: Mix Age: born August 2017. Gender: female Size: 45 cm. Spayed/Neutered: female / spayed Location / Country: Germany Place: Monschau Description When one thinks it can't get any worse…. It's simply terrible, it brings tears to your eyes and makes you angry at the same time…. Eva is one of many dear furry noses facing a great misfortune. A misfortune involving life and death. "Caught dogs, crammed into rusty, cramped cages until their death, a dirty floor of crumbling concrete with holes…. and yet, a room providing safety over years. The dogs are not locked up alone, but in pairs or more, they comfort each other, they are not alone (insert image)… The communities are legally obligated to pay for it. They do not. Every 2 to 3 weeks, they send workers to the mass camp who then throw 10 to 20 dogs onto their truck bed and drive them to an abandoned quarry, where the dogs, whether old, sick, blind, or puppies, are pushed off the truck bed onto the road, disoriented, helpless, full of fear, injured. The first ones are immediately run over by the workers. If they die, it is a merciful death. The others wander around without water among the rocks, fall into crevices, lie deep and unreachable with shattered limbs and spines, screaming in pain hour after hour until they only whimper and then lie still. No dog has ever returned from there. When animal welfare workers accidentally came across a loading operation, they tried to save the animals, but only partially succeeded. They called on all of us to help. We now know which dogs have been chosen for the next deportation. We need your help: rescue sponsorships – foster homes – adoptions. Please help these poor animals! Cat-friendly: unknown. Compatible with fellow animals: with male dogs, with female dogs Contact person: Frau Gerlinde Kolubka Email: « Rocky Charles (from Antonietta) ». Gets along with other dogs.

Name: Eva. Rasse: MixAlter: geboren August 2017. Helfen Sie bitte diesen armen Tieren! Katzenverträglich: unbekannt. Verträglich mit Artgenossen: mit Rüden, mit Hündinnen Ansprechpartner: Frau Gerlinde Kolubka Email: « Rocky Charles (von Antonietta) » Weitere Hunde

About Eva

What life with Eva looks like

Eva is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Adozioni del cuore e.V. in Wedel.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eva, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eva?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Adozioni del cuore e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eva on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eva if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Adozioni del cuore e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eva already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eva isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Adozioni del cuore e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eva and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
