Everett

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Everett didn't have an easy start in life. He was found alone on the streets after attentive animal lovers alerted our colleagues to his presence. Unfortunately, he wasn't microchipped, and although we hoped someone would miss him, no one came forward. Thus, Everett eventually ended up in our care, where he's now waiting for his second chance—a loving forever home. From the very beginning, Everett has delighted us with his wonderful nature. He's an exceptionally open, people-oriented, and friendly male dog who thoroughly enjoys being close to his humans. He loves nothing more than climbing onto laps and letting himself be thoroughly petted. He greets every person openly and warmly, winning hearts in no time at all with his affectionate demeanor. His intelligence also speaks volumes: Everett is attentive, learns quickly, and takes great joy in discovering new things together with his people. He possesses all the qualities needed to become a loyal companion for life. Everett also shows great social skills and compatibility with other animals. He gets along well with his fellow dogs and interacts pleasantly and without fuss even with cats. On walks, Everett already walks beautifully on the leash without pulling. Outdoors, he displays curiosity and interest, eagerly sniffing around his surroundings and thoroughly enjoying dashing freely across meadows and paths. Everett could travel to Berlin or Stuttgart, vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, dewormed, with an EU pet passport, following a positive pre-adoption check and under a protection contract. As always, we'd like to point out that a dog from animal rescue abroad needs time, patience, and a loving introduction. New impressions, new routines, and new bonds should be allowed to develop at their own pace. Those willing to take this journey together will be rewarded with an especially deep and meaningful bond. Everett hatte keinen leichten Start ins Leben. About Everett

What life with Everett looks like

Everett is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Everett, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Everett?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Everett on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Everett if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Everett already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Everett isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Everett and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
