Information: We met Evie during our visit to Elisa's animal shelter in March 2026. Along with her pups, she was staying at Elisa's animal shelter. Evie's pups were still very small and dependent on their mother, which is why Evie did not come out of her kennel run at that time. Therefore, we went into her kennel run to meet her. The first few times, she was cautious and protective towards her pups. Later, she showed more of herself and proved to be very gentle, cheerful, and cuddly. How she gets along with other dogs was not yet clear at this moment. She defended her pups and therefore was kept separate from other dogs. In May 2026, we visited the animal shelter again. In the kennel run, Evie is a nice and affectionate dog, and in reality, she is much smaller than she appears in the footage. This time, we also took Evie for a walk. She still needs to get used to walking, as shown in the videos. But even outside, she loves cuddling and seeks support from her handlers. We found it terrible to put her back in the kennel run and leave her there. She literally begged for attention through the bars 🥺 Unfortunately, she didn't bring her coat color. Strange but true: black dogs are less likely to be placed; many people don't want a black / dark-colored dog... The hard reality means that she is therefore less adoptable. It's so sad and unfortunate that such a nice dog is stuck in a Romanian shelter kennel, while she would make a suitable adopter in the Netherlands very happy!

In het weekend van 30 mei is ze met open armen ontvangen door haar gastgezin in Badhoevedorp (provincie Noord-Holland). Bij hen krijgt ze de tijd om "te landen", na alles wat ze heeft meegemaakt, de lange reis en nu aangekomen in een voor haar hele nieuwe wereld. Via haar gastgezin leren we Evie steeds beter kennen, hoe ze zich in Nederland voelt en gedraagt.Wanneer ze beschikbaar komt voor adoptie, dan wordt de informatie op deze pagina uitgebreid aangevuld! Informatie, Evie in Roemenië: We leerden Evie kennen tijdens ons bezoek aan het asiel van Elisa in maart 2026. Samen met haar pups verbleef ze in Elisa's asiel. Evie's pups waren nog erg klein en afhankelijk van hun moeder waardoor Evie toen niet uit haar kennel is gekomen. Daarom zijn wij bij haar in de kennel geweest om haar te ontmoeten. De eerste paar keer was ze afwachtend en beschermend naar haar pups toe. Daarna liet ze steeds meer van zichzelf zien en ze bleek heel zachtaardig, vrolijk en knuffelig. Hoe ze met andere honden is, was op dit moment nog niet te zeggen. Ze verdedigde haar pups en werd daarom apart gehouden van andere honden.
