Evy and Fritzi - Two shy cat girls together on their way to happiness! Evy: black and white nose (Picture 1) Our two little cat girls are still a bit shy and approach new people and situations cautiously at first. They need time to gain trust and arrive at their own pace. Behind their reserved nature, however, is a lot of curiosity. With patience, calmness, and loving attention, they will learn step by step that people mean something good. It is especially nice that they have each other and can give each other security. Why don't we mediate kittens alone? Especially with shy kittens, a suitable companion is particularly valuable. Kitten children learn in joint play to use their body language, respect boundaries, and correctly assess situations. They can play, cuddle, and give each other security. A person cannot fully replace this important social contact. Especially reserved kittens benefit from having a familiar companion by their side, to which they can orient themselves. That's why we generally do not mediate our kittens in single holding. Our two sisters should move together to their new home and there build trust at their own pace. About Evy und Fritzi

What life with Evy und Fritzi looks like

Evy und Fritzi is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Oelzschau in Oelzschau.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Evy und Fritzi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Evy und Fritzi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Oelzschau handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Evy und Fritzi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Evy und Fritzi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Oelzschau will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Evy und Fritzi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Evy und Fritzi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Oelzschau early rather than rehoming privately; they know Evy und Fritzi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
