adoption requirements adoption process Request this pet now! adoption requirements adoption process Request this cat now! Eywa was found on the street along with another cat. Left to fend for themselves, they were hungry and exposed to all the dangers of weather and traffic. Without a place to call their own, the two struggled to survive on the streets. After coming to our foster home, Eywa was almost adopted right away, but her dream of having her own home was shattered, and now this beautiful red-and-white lady is once again looking for her family. Eywa is one of the sweetest and gentlest cats we know. Quiet and cuddly, she enjoys the love and care of her people and is always on the lookout for the next snuggle session. When the sun shines on her fur, she stretches out contentedly and lets the sun warm her little belly, closing her eyes and simply enjoying life. Whoever adopts Eywa will gain a calm, gentle, and consistently loving companion. Not only does Eywa get along wonderfully with people, but also with other cats and dogs. We wish for this little velvet paw a home where at least one other cat is waiting for her or can move in with her. To give her the peace and security she deserves after a long search, we hope for a home that is suitable for apartment living. Eywa is ready for her new life: microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and equipped with her EU pet passport, she is ready to go for an adoption fee! If you want to give Eywa a hand to pet and a spot in the sun, we look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks to Maike; thanks to you, Eywa has her special name and thus an identity! Status: 09.05.

About Eywa

What life with Eywa looks like

Eywa is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eywa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eywa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eywa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eywa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eywa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eywa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eywa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
