Merlin (born 2018, black-white) and Maxi (born 2021, tabby) should ideally be rehomed together, as they are very attached to each other. Merlin was already with me before Maxi was born, and the two have grown up closely together. Merlin is playful, active, and also open. He is very affectionate and seeks human proximity. Additionally, he is a little charmer with a sense of humor. Maxi is a bit more balanced, more relaxed, and sovereign. He enjoys attention when approached calmly. Maxi is a Scottish-Fold-Mix. The father was already a mix, the mother Maya is a BKH. So far, Maxi shows no health limitations, not even in movement. Scottish Fold/Scottish Fold cats are a sadly currently very fashionable inbreeding. The reason for the small, "folded" ears is a hereditary disease that is selectively bred to achieve withered cartilage, causing the ear flaps to change shape. However, this genetic defect affects not only the ear cartilage but also cartilage in the rest of the body. It results in arthritis, joint swelling, and skeletal changes, which can manifest to varying degrees and in varying degrees of pain. The cats therefore have a limited quality of life, with clear pain in the entire musculoskeletal system as the disease progresses, and often have to be euthanized early if pain therapy no longer helps. Das Tierheim Cappel in Marburg übernimmt keine Gewähr für private Vermittlungsanzeigen und Anzeigen anderer Vereine. ________________________ Hier die Privatanzeige: Aufgrund veränderter Lebensumstände nach Trennung und Umzug suche ich schweren Herzens ein neues Zuhause für meine drei Katzen. Merlin (geb. 2018, schwarz-weiß) und Maxi (geb. 2021, getigert) sollen möglichst zusammen vermittelt werden, da sie sehr aneinander hängen. Merlin war bereits bei mir, bevor Maxi bei mir geboren wurde, und die beiden sind eng miteinander aufgewachsen. Merlin ist verspielt, aktiv und auch offen. Er ist sehr kontaktfreudig und sucht die Nähe zum menschen. Außerdem ist er ein kleiner Charmeur mit Humor. Maxi ist etwas ausgeglichener, eher entspannt und souverän. er genießt Aufmerksamkeit wenn man sich ihm ruhig nähert. Maxi ist ein Scottish-Fold-Mix. Der Vater war bereits ein Mix, die Mutter Maya ist eine BKH. Bisher zeigt Maxi keine gesundheitlichen Einschränkungen auch nicht in der Bewegung. Scottish Fold/Faltohrkatzen ist eine leider aktuell sehr in Mode geratene Qualzucht. Der Grund für die kleinen, „gefalteten“ Ohren ist eine Erbkrankheit, die gezielt angezüchtet wird, um verkümmerte Knorpel, wodurch die Ohrmuscheln ihre Form verändern, zu erreichen. Es sind aber von diesem Gendefekt nicht nur die Ohrknorpel betroffen, sondern auch Knorpel im restlichen Körper. Es kommt somit zu Arthrosen, Gelenkschwellungen und skelettalen Veränderungen, die sich unterschiedlich stark und schmerzhaft ausprägen können. Die Katzen haben dadurch eine eingeschränkte Lebensqualität, bei fortschreitender Erkrankung deutliche Schmerzen im gesamten Bewegungsapparat und müssen, wenn ihnen eine Schmerztherapie nicht mehr helfen kann, häufig verfrüht eingeschläfert werden. Durch die verkümmerten Ohren ist auch die soziale Kommunikation der Katzen sehr eingeschränkt. Mit Merlin versteht er sich aber wunderbar. Die beiden sind Freigang gewohnt, weshalb ein Zuhause mit sicherer Möglichkeit zum Freigang sehr wichtig wäre. Sie sind außerdem mit Hunden – auch größeren Hunden – aufgewachsen und daran gewöhnt.
