Fabio

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Fabio was a tiny and vulnerable puppy given up to the animal shelter. No place for a pup like him to grow up... Fortunately, our rescue partner in Romania was able to take him and his siblings away from there and bring them to the shelter. There, Fabio finally got the chance to grow up without worries into the sweet little puppy he is now. And what a pup he has become! Fabio is a handsome little guy with a gentle nature. He is social with other dogs and clearly enjoys the attention of the volunteers who care for him daily. Fabio certainly doesn't say no to cuddle time. Fabio is now ready to travel and dreams of his own home. A warm place where a soft bed awaits him and where he gets the love and attention he so deserves. Fabio has already left for the Netherlands and is now staying with us in the shelter. Fabio is looking for someone who will guide him through everything he still needs to learn. Think about potty training, being alone at home for short periods of time, and walking on a leash. But most of all, someone who can help him discover the world with patience and love and grow into an amazing, loyal housemate. Are you the one who can give Fabio his golden bed? Fabio is a mixed-breed male puppy with an estimated birth date of January 26, 2026, and an expected final height of approximately 38 centimeters.

NL·Show original

About Fabio

What life with Fabio looks like

Fabio is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at DOC Oldenzaal in Netherlands.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fabio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fabio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. DOC Oldenzaal handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fabio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fabio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — DOC Oldenzaal will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fabio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fabio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with DOC Oldenzaal early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fabio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
