Facie

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 11 years

Meet Facie, a sweet cat looking for a new home where she can be herself. Facie came to us because her owner could no longer care for her. Of course, that's a big change for her. Facie is a sensitive cat who doesn't easily trust everyone. But give her time to get to know you, and she'll come to you for a cuddle. That's what makes winning her trust so special. Facie is an indoor cat and used to live with a dog. Unfortunately, she doesn't get along with other cats, so we're looking for a place where she can be the only cat. She doesn't have experience with young children, so that probably wouldn't work out well for her either. Because Facie is sensitive to stress, we're looking for a quiet household where she won't be overwhelmed. A place where she can get used to things at her own pace, where she can feel safe, and where her boundaries are respected. Facie was born on May 11, 2015, and is spayed. We hope someone with patience and understanding will give Facie the time to build trust. Because behind that cautious face is a sweet cat who, once she knows you, will love to cuddle with you. Will you give her that loving, trusting home?

About Facie

What life with Facie looks like

Facie is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Dierencentrum De Mère in Netherlands.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Facie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Facie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierencentrum De Mère handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Facie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Facie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierencentrum De Mère will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Facie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Facie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierencentrum De Mère early rather than rehoming privately; they know Facie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
