Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

FĄFEL (B11) - a little cat from Piekoszowska Street. B11 is a tomcat who, despite difficult experiences, has not lost what is most beautiful in him. He has a unique, beautiful coat and a gaze that attracts attention, but it is his character that makes him stay in the heart longer. He came to us after an accident and has been under constant medical care since then. His daily life is different from that of healthy cats, because sometimes he needs to empty his bladder - this is the result of the accident he suffered. He also lost his tail. Fąfel needs a caregiver who is aware of his needs and ready for extra care. In return, however, he gives something that cannot be overestimated. Fąfel is extremely sociable and outgoing. He loves human presence, seeks closeness, reacts to attention and affection. This is a cat who does not want to be alone, who feels best next to someone who will devote time to him. In his behavior, you can't see resignation or withdrawal, there is a lot of life and a desire to be part of someone's world. Due to the fact that he is in hospital conditions, we do not yet know how he will find himself in a relationship with other cats. For the moment, the most important thing for him is safety, stability and care. We are looking for a special home for Fąfel. One that will not be afraid of his needs, but will see in him a cat full of affection and devotion. This is not the easiest adoption, but it may be one of the most valuable. Fąfel is waiting for someone who will give him a chance to live outside the hospital and show him that despite everything that has happened to him, he can still be just a loved cat. Date of birth: ~01.2025 We inform that each pet can be adopted virtually. FĄFEL (B11) - kotek z ul. Piekoszowskiej. About Fąfel(B11)

What life with Fąfel(B11) looks like

Fąfel(B11) is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.
