adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this dog! Falk has found a home! His story: Falk is the epitome of joy on four paws! This super sweet, friendly, energetic, and playful young male dog is ready to conquer the world – preferably by his favorite people's side. At just over 1 year old, standing at about 57 cm and weighing around 20 kg, he's a handsome fellow eager to finally start his journey! Falk likely has a bracken mix, a dog for all active people! Brackens are known for their boundless friendliness, loyalty, and of course, their endless endurance. His excellent sense of smell and high energy drive make him the perfect partner for long hikes, jogging rounds, or exciting nose work – as long as he's allowed to move and use his clever brain! Falk is an athlete who will definitely keep you fit and make every outing an adventure. Falk is in the most exciting phase of his life: puberty! Yes, that means sometimes having a mind of his own, but mainly it means he's now ready to learn everything. Since this treasure was found on the street, it's likely he hasn't experienced the cozy life in the house (indoor potty training, couch rules, and snuggle evenings) yet. But look on the bright side: you get to show him all these wonderful things from the ground up 😉! He's like an unwritten book, waiting to be filled with wonderful experiences with you. With your loving consistency, patience, and a lot of humor, he will master these new challenges playfully and develop into the perfect family dog in no time. Falk is so people-oriented that he will strongly orient himself towards you! A life without much human contact in the kennel means the highest penalty for this active male dog. That's why we are looking for active, optimistic, and humorous people who see Falk for what he is: a rough diamond with a huge heart! You should have a desire for action, take the challenges of puppyhood with a smile, and teach him the dog ABCs and cohabitation with joy and structure. Falk is extremely cuddly and would love to be everywhere – he will return his love and loyalty a thousandfold! Falk travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with his EU pet passport. After a positive But also a foster home would be a great help for the people-oriented male dog. Are you ready for a friend who fills your life daily with joy, energy, and lots of sniffing fun? Many thanks Alexandra L.! You gave Falk his name and thus his identity. As of: 12.11.

About Falk

What life with Falk looks like

Falk is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Falk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Falk?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Falk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Falk if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Falk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Falk isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Falk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
