Adopt Falka

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Falka is a young female in the Belgian Malinois type. As befits a Belgian descendant, she is a demanding dog that should only go to the hands of an experienced person. Working with a behaviorist after adoption will certainly be needed for our girl! The biggest problem that Falka faces is the lack of acceptance of other dogs. It is hard for her to get along with larger ones, but she simply hunts smaller ones and will not miss any opportunity to catch the unfortunate one, and she perfectly knows how to use her teeth to her advantage. For this reason, we are looking for a home in a quiet area, to minimize the number of animals encountered and to carefully and wisely carry out future socialization. Suburban or rural areas would be ideal. This will definitely make work on her issues easier and reduce the risk of unwanted incidents.

Falka to młoda suka mocno w typie Owczarka Belgijskiego Malinois. Ułatwi to zdecydowanie pracę nad jej problemami i zmniejszy ryzyko wystąpienia niepożądanych incydentów.

About Falka

What life with Falka looks like

Falka is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Wrocław in Wrocław.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Dog aggression - hunts smaller dogs, difficult with larger dogs. Requires behavioral work and experienced handler.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Falka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Falka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Wrocław handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Falka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Falka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Wrocław will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Falka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Falka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Wrocław early rather than rehoming privately; they know Falka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
