Adopt DYZIO

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

He had a home, had his place, a family - and lost everything. DYZIO is a dog adopted from our animal shelter as a puppy - after 4 years he was returned from adoption, left in the kennel without even a farewell from his previous owners. DYZIO didn't cope well with this change - he lost weight, sought contact, affection, didn't understand why. Then he started working with a volunteer, and each day he was recovering again. This is an amazing, highly social dog, positively oriented towards people, eager to cooperate and learn - he has a lot of energy that he can use for this! DYZIO knows many tricks and learns new ones very quickly. He is a very energetic and active dog, and also looks for such people - those who like long walks, sports, ready for training with a dog. Due to neglect from the previous home, DYZIO is carefully catching up on work on emotions, looking for a committed guide who will be willing to stay in contact with our behaviorists.

Miał dom, miał swoje miejsce, rodzinę – i stracił wszystko.

About DYZIO

What life with DYZIO looks like

DYZIO is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie in Gniezno.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting DYZIO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about DYZIO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw DYZIO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt DYZIO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is DYZIO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if DYZIO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie early rather than rehoming privately; they know DYZIO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
