Fanny

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this cute, brown Fanny with her scruffy fur! She has the license to be a dream dog. An energetic female dog, but still with a calm personality. Just what active dog owners are looking for, but not necessarily someone who goes over tables and chairs at home 😉 Fanny was lucky and was found by our animal welfare worker Tudor. She has kept her sunny disposition and is exceptionally sweet and loving with everyone. Now it's time for her story to begin. Fanny is also a true sight to behold. What breeds are in her is just a guess. It could be a mix of both a hunting dog and a terrier. Fanny has a beautiful, rather small size of approximately 40-45 cm and a weight of around 12 kg. Her charming face has many facets. From smiling to looking serious, it's all there. She always has a very intense look from her wonderful, bright eyes. For Fanny, we are looking for people who don't expect much from her. The dog 1×1 is likely still foreign to her. Also, puberty is still in the final stages 😉. But due to her rather balanced nature, Fanny will surely adapt to her new environment quickly and be eager to learn new things. Attending dog training classes could enrich both of you. There you can also discover what activities Fanny enjoys. We can imagine that she would have fun with agility or also with nose work, like tracking or mantrailing. But also long nature excursions and plenty of cuddles should not be missing. Fanny is looking forward to your request. Her luggage is already packed! Fanny travels neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped. Adoption or a foster home would both make her very happy. Thank you, Edyta, for giving Fanny a name and the chance at a happy dog life. As of: 12.04.

Stand: 12.04.25

About Fanny

What life with Fanny looks like

Fanny is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fanny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fanny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fanny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fanny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fanny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fanny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fanny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
