adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Fanny has found her home! Her story: A dreamy beautiful female dog, who is particularly in urgent need of a home and whom we will not give up on until we find one. Fanny was seized like many of our current dogs and thus freed from poor husbandry. Her neck scar shows that she probably spent a very long time on a chain, and the scar was deeply embedded. But she is recovering well and shows herself to be a very active and agile senior dog who still wants to experience a lot in her life. Fanny is approximately 11.5-12 years old and has a height of around 57 cm, she is a sporty, medium-sized female dog who still wants to make excursions with her people. She loves people, even though they weren't good to her earlier. She also gets along well with other dogs. It's also unusual that she walks on a leash as if she has done this before. Fanny is currently a bit overweight with around 35 kg and should lose some weight. She is not compatible with cats and shows a prey drive. Fanny is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas, dewormed, and has her own EU pet passport. She can be adopted hopefully already very soon…. Who will give their heart to this wonderful female dog? Many thanks to Stefanie B.! You have given Fanny her name! Heartfelt thanks to Claudia K.! Because you support Fanny with a monthly sponsorship. As of: 08.05.

Vielen Dank Stefanie B.! Du hast Fanny ihren Namen geschenkt! Lieben Dank an Claudia K.! Stand: 08.05.2024

About Fanny

What life with Fanny looks like

Fanny is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fanny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fanny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fanny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fanny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fanny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fanny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fanny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
